Dimples were once purely down to genetics as it’s actually a defect in the cheek muscle, but now you can achieve your own dimples through a special dimple creation surgery called Dimpleplasty.

What is Dimpleplasty?

Dimpleplasty is a procedure which creates dimples on your cheeks. They will even be visible when you aren’t smiling. This surgery is extremely simple and quick as you don’t need a general anesthesia.  There is no downtime, which means after the surgery is completed you will be free to go about your daily activities.

Who is it for?

All patients should be in good health and have realistic expectations about what will be achieved through dimple creation surgery. We do not take patients under the age of 18 and it’s advised patients either quit or refrain from smoking. Dimpleplasty surgery is ideal for patients who:

  • Wish to enhance their smile through dimples
  • If you’ve always admired dimples and would like them yourself
  • Are in good health, both mentally and physically

Before Surgery:

As with all surgical procedures, you will be required to have a consultation with one of our friendly staff members. This appointment will help you clear up any concerns, as well as discuss your expectations and provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions. In this appointment your doctor will thoroughly examine you and your health history, thoroughly explain the procedure and talk you through the most appropriate treatment option for you. You will be given a local anaesthetic.

Dimpleplasty is only a day procedure, so you will good to go home once the effects of the anaesthetic have worn off. You will have some minor swelling and bruising post-op which fade over the course of the week. The sutures placed inside your cheek will dissolve after about two weeks. After everything has healed you will then see your brand new, natural looking dimple on your skin.
